Silver Screen

ひさしぶりのエントリですね。
実は二週間ほど前に二週間ほど実家に帰っていました。
うん、ややこしいひびき。けっこうストレス溜まってて、
ある日衝動的に日本行きを決めた感じ。
二週間すべて家族の用事で消費。会えなかった人たちごめんなさい。
特に同じ頃観光に来てた同僚のTim、ごめんよ・・・。
ちなみに彼は例のアルミホイルの人です。

ボストンに帰って最初の週末は、友人のイベントの手伝いでNYに。
アニメフェスティバルでロリータファッションショーをやったのですが
いやもうすごかった。生まれて初めてオタクイベントに参加（？）
しましたが、ホントすごかった。コスプレの群れが。
自分の性格は、断然ロリータよりもゴスなので
ショーで割り当てられる服がゴスロリもしくはダンディ（？）
だったらいいなあと思ってたら。ねえ、もう。
・・・ど真ん中でフリフリのぴらぴらでした。
正直、あと十歳若かったらなあと、そればっか思ってました。
完璧にロリータドレス姿がハマってたモデルの子が
実は少年だと知ったとき、何か妙に納得できたのは
オタクコンベンションの奇跡でしょうか。なんなんだか。
実際、NYに来て一番わくわくだったのがブックオフなんだから
どうにも地味っつうか、貧乏性っつうか。
ところで今週末は先日発売になったロックバンド２のリリースパーティです。
こんなに週末ごとにイベントがあると、とろけちゃいそう。

It’s been a while…again. I was at my parents’ place for 2weeks about 2weeks ago. I was too stressed that I suddenly decided to go home. I used up all the vacation days, but it was worth it. Originally I was going to meet with my friends, but that didn’t happen. (I’m sorry!) Well, good thing is I got to go to hot springs again, and finally, I could meet with the other family members like my auntie and uncle.

Last weekend I was at NYC to help out my friend organizing Lolita Fashion Show at NYAF. It was first time in my life being in a big otaku event, and that was…overloading. Many cosplayers everywhere, as well as maids and lolita girls (boys). Yes, the most thing that blew my mind was that one of the models at the lolita show was actually a guy. Not only that, he (she) looked so good with the cutie frilly girly dress. damn. If you were at the show, guess…I won’t tell which one.

RB2 release party is this weekend. So many events going on these days…for me. I feel like I’m melting.

相方から誕生日にPSPを貰いました！PSPというのは携帯ゲーム機です。
日本版のFFTまでつけてくれたので早速プレイしています。
高校時代にプレイした時は、エンディングにたどり着くまでに
主人公が３０代だか４０代だかになってたんですけど
（時間の概念のあるゲームなので、だらだらプレイしてると
登場人物がどんどん年をとっていくのです。
見た目は変わんないんですけど。変わったら凄く嫌だけど。）
今回はいっそのこと６０代になるまでやり込みたいと思います。
世界平和のため、悪のラスボスと対峙する老人の集団。・・・ステキ！

誕生日ディナーはインド料理でした。カレーはありがちなので、
今回は変化球を狙ってオクラと玉ねぎの炒めものを注文。
すごく美味しかったです。オクラ、ラブ。
私たぶんインドとかで、菜食主義でもやってけると思う。
あと前から決めてた、食後はFinaleでデザート。
アプリコットのデザート白ワインが美味しかった。
甘くて、強いけど、もう、なんつうか、
甘いので大丈夫です。甘い。
とにかく甘い。うまい。

ヴァージニアの姉が幸せの青い鳥をくれました。
当日に双子の甥っ子姪っ子が電話口でバースデーソング歌ってくれたのも
（その後ケーキが食べれないと知って、双子が大泣きしたらしい事も）
全部嬉しかったです。ありがとう！

実家からは欲しかった化粧品とか。早速使ってます。
化粧品はやっぱり日本のじゃないとねー。
カードもキラキラしててかわいかった。お母さんありがとう！
（相変わらず手先が器用ですね・・・。小物入れ完成度高い。）

My birthday was at the end of August, and this year I had really nice one. I got PSP from Noah. It came with FFT (Japanese version!), so I’ve been playing busy since then. Last time I played the game, members of my party were almost close to 30yrs or 40yrs old…(if you know FFT you know what I mean…this game has concept of time, so if you play slow, your characters age crazy.) This time, I want to make everyone over 50…imagine, a bunch of old people standing against the evil last boss at the final battle…what a beautirul sight! The birthday dinner was Indian. I had stirfried okra and onions (I forgot what it’s called) and it was very tasty. I don’t mind being vegan in India, if they serve this good food. For dessert we went to Finale at Harvard, and I had really good apricot and honey flavered dessert wine. mmm…heavenly…

my nephew and niece sang birthday song for me over the phone on that day. It was the cutest thing. Later I heard, as soon as they found that they are not having birthday cake, they went crazy and cried a lot…that’s even more cute. (maybe not for their mom)
